Here's Jim waiting for the start of the Kenduskeag Canoe Race. Getting out on Maine's rivers is one of his favorite pass times.

My name is Jim Martin and I'm running to be your State Representative in District 18 (Bangor East Side, Veazie and part of Orono) to bring a pragmatic, progressive voice to Augusta.

As a social worker and a small business owner, I've been working for more than 20 years to advance the issues that matter most in the lives of Maine people - access to affordable healthcare, quality education, a clean environment, equality for all and the creation of good paying jobs.

The people of Maine want solutions to the tough challenges we all face, regardless of the party we belong to; sky-rocketing fuel costs, fixing our roads and bridges, investing in our children's education. As your Representative in Augusta, I promise to work hard each day, with both Democrats and Republicans, to find solutions that make sense and are fiscally responsible.

I look forward to meeting you in person during this campaign because I want to hear what's on your mind. Please feel free to contact me to ask your questions or share your ideas.

Of course, I would be honored to have your vote this November.
